No Class Nancy Pelosi earned her nickname late Monday night when she called the President “morbidly obese” about his decision to take the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to avoid contracting COVID-19.
The full quote shows just how far out of her way Pelosi went to body shame the President.
“He’s our president, and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and his, shall we say, weight group … morbidly obese, they say,” she said.
Not only did Pelosi attack President Trump’s weight, but she also attacked his age. I don’t know how old Pelosi is, but given she is famous for being one of the last living survivors of the Titanic, my guess is she is old.
Fine. You got me. She wasn’t on the Titanic. But the fact that you believed me at first shows you how old she is. The bottom line is she should not be attacking anyone based on their age.
The attack on his health was even worse. She camouflaged her insult with caring words, but her meaning was clear. The President is unhealthy and is not smart enough to make his own decisions about his health.
I am not a medical expert and I won’t pretend to be. Does hydroxychloroquine help treat or prevent COVID-19? I don’t know. But President Trump has world renowned medical experts advising him. I would imagine they know more than Nancy Pelosi. If Trump wants to take the medication, he has a right to do so without being vilified and shamed.
A person’s weight and their health decisions are meant to be private. Not thrown into the public arena to score political points with your base. Then again, this is the highest-ranking Democrat in the country. Their shame knows no limits. Just ask Michael Flynn.
